New York Gov.
Andrew Cuomo announced Wednesday that lottery winners will receive $1,268,000 and the winning number of $1 million.
Cuomo’s announcement comes after the state’s Lottery Commission announced the Powerball jackpots will increase in size.
New York City lottery officials say the Powerballs will be increased to a total of $4.5 billion starting April 11.
The winner of the jackpot will receive about $2.3 million and the number of Powerball tickets to be distributed will increase to 4,000.
New Yorkers who win the Power Ball jackpot this year will be able to buy tickets for a variety of events, including a concert, sporting event, museum exhibit, and an upcoming birthday party.
