The Maryland lottery is a lot like any other, with hundreds of thousands of people trying to get in.
But the state has an even bigger jackpot this year.
It’s more than $1 billion, and the odds are stacked against anyone.
The prize is now worth more than the entire national median household income.
What is it?
Maryland’s lottery is called the $1.5bn Maryland Lottery State Lottery.
It was created in 1999.
It has an average daily payout of $150 million.
It also has a $20 million cash prize and a $1 million jackpot.

You must be 21 or older to win a jackpot prize.
How to play The winner must submit a ticket to a state lottery office.
If the ticket has been received by the office, the winner will receive an e-mail with instructions for how to redeem it.
